Hepatitis C – The Next Epidemic?

Town Hall Forum - January 27, 2009 - 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The Center, 1800 Market Street, San Francisco, CA
FREE - ALL ARE WELCOME

Many people are noticing an increasing prevalence of Hepatitis C in San Francisco’s gay male population. There is strong anecdotal evidence and some preliminary research that the means of transmission for a significant number of these infections is likely sexual in nature. Information is always good and information with community discussion is even better. This town hall forum is being held to inform the community, facilitate discussion regarding the sexual transmission of Hepatitis C, and forge consensus of what actions the men’s community wants San Francisco health policy makers and providers to take.

DID YOU KNOW...

  • More gay men carry the Hepatitis C virus than HIV?
  • Public Health Officials do NOT classify HEP-C as an STD?
  • Public Health tests for HEP-C are available only for those using injectable drugs?
Attend our panel discussion. Hear from health officials, private doctors, patients and sex club promoters!
Help frame the debate - Share your stories - Learn how HEP-C is affecting our community
Plenty of time for questions and comments from those in attendance.
